Event Report SHROUDED VALOR

On the 76th Independence Day, the Department of Computer Engineering's CESA Committee organized an event called "SHROUDED VALOR". The first round, "UTSAH", occurred on August 11, 2023, where 15 teams competed in a quiz about Indian freedom fighters. Winners were "Brainy Bunch", "Swatantra", "1+sin theta", "Patriotic", "Team titles", and "VA group 1". Later, a meeting was held for the winning teams to discuss the next round, "SAHAS", focusing on portraying India's unsung heroes, including costume discussions and rehearsal dates.

At 2 p.m., the CESA organizers and Prof. Shefali Raina held a meeting to give the winning teams instructions for the second round “SAHAS”. In this round, eligible teams were tasked with portraying India's unsung heroes. During this discussion, all of the teams agreed on one unsung hero to perform on and also discussed their costumes. The organizers also provided rehearsal dates so that participants could practice before the performance.

Round 2:

The "SAHAS" round took place at Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan's Faculty of Engineering and Visual Arts on August 15th. Teams portrayed unsung heroes like the Chaphekar brothers and Vikram Bhatra. The performances were applauded by the audience and dignitaries present.

Following the performances, Ms. Neeta Vanage from the Dept of Humanities & Basic Science announced the results. Four teams, "Bharat ki betiya", "Jay hind ki sena", "Kesari", and "Jag jeeteya", were shortlisted for the third round based on their excellent performances.

Round 3:

The third round, "Dhairya," tested adaptability and innovation. Conducted in a seminar hall, organizers provided cell phones for teams to view questions. The round consisted of three sub-rounds.

In the "Dhairya" round, each team received two questions in the first round, with 10 points for correct answers within 45 seconds. The second round was a buzzer round, with the first to buzz having 15 seconds to answer. Correct answers gained 10 points, while incorrect ones deducted 5. The third round mirrored the first. "Jag Jeeteya" and "Jai Hind ki Sena" emerged as the winning teams with the highest scores.

Final Round "SAFALTA":

The final "SAFALTA" round was a debate round in which qualified teams were given the topic of the caste system. The two teams presented their points of view on their respective topics, and the better team, "Jag Jeeteya" won. Appasaheb Desai congratulated the “Jag Jeeteya” team and presented them with medals and certificates. He also appreciated the Cesa team for organizing the event and encouraged them to arrange more events. The head of the computer department, Rais Mulla, also congratulated the Cesa team on a successful occasion. The event was effectively carried out in this manner.
